An episode is ninety seconds and a series is eighty of them. Both a heavy 4K file and a short clip were pushed through six platforms and measured on ingest and startup.
3.5x faster than the average across platforms tested. Two others could not take the 4K file at all: one caps uploads at 100 MB, the other errored in processing.
1.0s, the fastest of the six and well inside the 2 second abandonment threshold. A seventh reading came back as 0ms and was excluded as invalid.
Multiples are measured against the average across platforms tested. Per-title encoding tunes the ladder to the source, which is why a phone held sideways in poor light still gets a usable rendition.

Is microdrama big enough to build a platform on?
Omdia put the global market at $11 billion in 2025, forecast to reach $14 billion by the end of 2026, with the US at roughly $1.5 billion. On Sensor Tower's Q4 2025 US mobile data, ReelShort averaged 35.7 minutes per user per day against Netflix at 24.8 and Disney+ at 23.0, so a single microdrama app already out-engages the largest SVOD apps on mobile.
How fast does the next episode start on a swipe?
The player prefetches the next episode while the current one plays, so the swipe lands on a frame rather than a load. A feed gives you roughly 500 milliseconds before it feels broken, against about five seconds for a traditional OTT play button.
How do I publish an 80 episode series?
One POST per episode with the source URL and your series and episode number as metadata, then a playlist to hold the order. Eighty webhooks come back as each is ready. There is no bulk endpoint that takes a whole series in one call.
How do I gate episodes behind a paywall?
Free episodes get a public playback ID. Gated ones require a signed JWT your service mints only after an unlock. Signing is per asset, so unlocking episode 12 does not unlock 13.
