Start with what you actually run
Strip the pitch away and an education video platform is two quantities. There is the library you hold, measured in storage. And there is the video you deliver to learners each month, measured in bandwidth, the total data sent out over the content delivery network, or CDN, that carries video to devices. Everything on the invoice is a function of those two.
A realistic mid-sized case: five terabytes (TB) of stored lectures, and fifty TB of delivery a month as learners watch. It is worth saying plainly what that second number means, because it is where the trap is. Per Vimeo’s published plan limits, its self-serve plans cap at two TB of bandwidth a month. Fifty is twenty-five times that. Read the last row, because it matters. If you can push Vimeo to a deep enterprise discount on bandwidth, they come in under FastPix on that one line.
