Remove an item from a program

This endpoint removes a single item from a program on a Cloud Playout loop channel. The remaining items keep their order, and the program’s item count and total duration are updated.

How it works

  1. Make a DELETE request to this endpoint with the ID of the item you want to remove, which you can get from the get items in a program endpoint.

  2. Any segments marked on the item are removed with it, and the clips FastPix created for those segments are deleted from your media library. The media the item played is not affected.

  3. The response confirms the removal.

On a channel that is on air, an item cannot be removed if it is already due to play in the next few minutes, because that part of the line-up has already been sent to the playout system. To remove several items at once, use the remove several items from a program endpoint.

Example

A broadcaster drops a trailer from the evening block after the campaign it promoted has ended.
