Add media to a program
This endpoint adds one or more media assets to a program on a Cloud Playout loop channel. The media are appended to the end of the program, in the order they appear in the request, and the channel plays them in that order each time it reaches the program.
How it works
-
Add the media to your workspace through the Media APIs and wait until each one reaches the
readystatus. -
Make a POST request to this endpoint with the
mediaIdsof the assets you want to add. -
FastPix reads each media’s duration and adds it to the program, updating the program’s item count and total duration.
Each media asset has to exist in the same workspace, be in the ready status, and have a public access policy. Media that was split into segments cannot be added to a program directly.
Channel duration limit
The combined duration of everything scheduled on a channel cannot exceed the channel’s own run time. FastPix rejects any request that would take the channel past that limit, and adds none of the media in it.
Example
A broadcaster adds the four episodes that make up the morning block, in playout order, to the program that represents that part of the loop.
Authentication
FastPix APIs are secured with Basic Authentication. Use your Access Token ID as the username and Secret Key as the password in the Authorization header of each API request.
- Username: Access Token ID
- Password: Secret Key
Activate your FastPix account to generate your API credentials. See the guide here
