Pull videos from YouTube and other social platforms
FastPix’s media-download service now supports pulling public video content directly from the major platforms — YouTube, Google Cloud, Facebook, X, Instagram, Twitch, and others — through the existing upload-from-URL endpoint. You give us the URL of a publicly accessible video on a supported platform; we download it and feed it into the standard transcoding pipeline. From there it behaves like any other VOD asset — public or signed playback IDs, MP4 download, DRM, sprite sheets, and so on.
Highlights:
-
Multi-platform support — Download videos from YouTube, Google Cloud, Facebook, X, Instagram, Twitch, and other major platforms.
-
Highest-quality resolution — Automatically resolves and downloads the best available stream.
-
Standard playback options — Public or signed playback IDs, MP4 download, DRM, sprite sheets, and all other VOD features.
To use the feature, call the existing upload-from-URL endpoint with the public video URL — no special parameter is required.
- Public-only — Only publicly visible content can be pulled. Private, unlisted, age-gated, subscriber-only, or geo-restricted videos will fail with an error.
