NewImprovementCloud PlayoutAPI

Every CloudPlayout channel can now have a default slate that automatically airs whenever something disrupts the scheduled content. If a program is missing, late, or hasn’t finished ingesting in time, the channel switches to your configured slate instead of going to black — keeping your viewers on a branded, professional surface no matter what.

Channel-level fallback — Configure a default slate once per channel and it’s used automatically for any unresolved gap in your schedule. Handles gaps of any length — Short gaps are bridged with frame-accurate slate clips, while longer gaps loop the slate cleanly for as long as needed. No impact on channel performance — Slate playback is delivered through the same optimized path as your regular content, so fallback never slows down your broadcast. Works alongside your other content — Slates coordinate cleanly with scheduled bumpers, live events, and loop content without conflicts.

Combined with live events and segment-level bumpers, default slates give every channel a guaranteed broadcast surface — even when contribution feeds drop, ingest is delayed, or the schedule hasn’t been filled in yet. Configure your default slate at the channel level and toggle fallback behavior whenever you need to.
