Dedicated L-Band and Aston Overlay Types
Dedicated L-Band and Aston Overlay Types
CloudPlayout now recognizes L-bands and Astons as dedicated overlay types alongside standard image and video overlays. L-bands sit across the bottom of the frame for tickers, headlines, and breaking-news strips. Astons act as lower-third name-and-title cards. Each variant renders independently, so timing and layering stay stable even when both are on screen at once.
Independent timing per variant — Each overlay variant has its own start and end times. Run an L-band for an hour while Astons cycle every few minutes — they don’t interfere with each other. Configurable z-ordering across variants — Set layering between the main stream, L-bands, and Astons so an Aston never disappears behind an L-band. Flexible durations — Tune overlay durations to match your station’s style guide without re-encoding source assets. Variant-aware editing — Add, update, or remove one variant without affecting others. Swap an Aston mid-broadcast without disturbing the L-band currently on air. Precise overlay end times — Overlays clean up at exactly the end time you configured, with no drift over long-running channels.
