Intelligent per-title encoding for higher quality at lower bitrate

ImprovementVideo on Demand

FastPix’s transcoder now uses an intelligent per-title encoding pipeline. Instead of running every source through a fixed bitrate ladder, the encoder profiles each input — its spatial and temporal complexity, motion characteristics, and quality ceiling — and chooses a bitrate ladder tailored to that specific asset. For low-complexity content (talking-head, screencasts, animation) this typically produces output files 20–40% smaller at the same perceptual quality; for high-complexity content (sports, action, fast-cut editorial) the encoder reserves more headroom on the top rungs.

Alongside the new ladder selection, this release lands a stack of stability and fidelity fixes that improve playback for source files coming off mobile devices and legacy capture systems.
