CloudPlayout channels now support closed-caption passthrough. Enable it when creating a channel and any CEA-608 or CEA-708 caption tracks in your source content are carried through to viewers automatically — making accessibility straightforward for captioned source material. Opt-in at channel creation — Enable caption passthrough when creating a channel through the API to preserve captions from your source content. Preserved across the full pipeline — Caption tracks are carried through segment transitions and processing without loss. Available on existing channels — Enable captions on channels you’ve already created with a single update call. No schedule rebuild required. Caption availability in analytics — Per-channel analytics reports indicate whether captions are available on each channel. Clean handling for uncaptioned sources — Channels playing content without captions work normally, with no empty caption track exposed in the manifest.
