# WordPress plugin settings and reference

> Configure the FastPix WordPress plugin: settings, roles and capabilities, WP-CLI commands, developer hooks, and uninstall behavior.

Look up every FastPix WordPress plugin setting, the capability map, the WP-CLI commands, the developer hooks, and what deactivating or uninstalling does. For setup, see [Integrate FastPix with WordPress](/docs/integrations/wordpress); for day-to-day tasks, see [Upload, embed, and manage WordPress video](/docs/integrations/wordpress-manage-video).

## Configure settings

**FastPix** > **Settings** has two sections.

### Video setup

| Setting                                    | Description                                                                    |
| ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Workspace key** | The FastPix workspace this site reports views to. |
| **DRM configuration ID** | Optional. Required only for DRM playback. |
| **Webhook URL** and **Signing secret** | See [Set up webhooks](/docs/integrations/wordpress#set-up-webhooks). |
| **Private link lifetime** | Signed token lifetime in minutes. |
| **Per-learner retention** | How long per-student lesson records are kept, in days. |
| **Course features** | Turns on the LMS integration when an LMS is detected. |
| **Emit structured data for public videos** | Adds `VideoObject` JSON-LD for search engines. Never for private or DRM video. |

### Account

| Setting                                | Description                                                                                                                           |
| -------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Access token ID** and **Secret key** | Change the connected credentials and click **Verify**. |
| **Delete local data on uninstall** | Off by default. When on, uninstalling removes the plugin's tables, options, and proxy attachments. Video on FastPix is never touched. |
| **Disconnect** | Stops playback until an account is connected again. Nothing is deleted. |
| **Copy support report** | Copies a system report for FastPix support. |

## Use WP-CLI commands

Managing large libraries from the command line saves time. Every command enqueues the same background job the scheduler runs.

```bash
wp fastpix status                    # connection, schema and queue state
wp fastpix sync                      # incremental new-media sweep
wp fastpix sync --deep               # resumable full resync
wp fastpix reindex                   # rebuild the search index
wp fastpix prune                     # apply retention now
wp fastpix doctor                    # run the activation checks
wp fastpix webhook-secret <secret>   # set the webhook signing secret
```

## Developer hooks

The plugin exposes actions and filters for customization. The most useful ones:

| Hook                           | Type   | Description                                          |
| ------------------------------ | ------ | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| `fastpix_feature_live`         | Filter | Turn on live streaming. Default `false`.             |
| `fastpix_feature_drm`          | Filter | Turn off DRM rendering. Default `true`.              |
| `fastpix_lms_enabled`          | Filter | Override the course features setting.                |
| `fastpix_lms_auto_complete`    | Filter | Stop automatic lesson credit. Default `true`.        |
| `fastpix_completion_threshold` | Filter | Change the default completion percentage.            |
| `fastpix_lesson_post_types` | Filter | Add post types that count as lessons. |
| `fastpix_reveal_learner_names` | Filter | Hide the admin-only name reveal in course analytics. |
| `fastpix_structured_data`      | Filter | Modify the `VideoObject` JSON-LD before output.      |
| `fastpix_live_ingest` | Filter | Override the RTMPS and SRT ingest addresses. |
| `fastpix_domain_lock_host` | Filter | Change the host used for **Lock to this site**. |
| `fastpix_rate_limit`           | Filter | Adjust public REST rate limits.                      |
| `fastpix_connected`            | Action | Fires when a workspace is connected.                 |
| `fastpix_media_ready`          | Action | Fires when a video finishes processing.              |
| `fastpix_video_completed`      | Action | Fires once when a viewer completes a lesson video.   |
| `fastpix_connection_unhealthy` | Action | Fires when the circuit breaker opens.                |
| `fastpix_api_recovered`        | Action | Fires when FastPix is reachable again.               |

## Technical features

### Resumable uploads

* **Chunk size**: 5 MB per chunk.
* **Resume capability**: Interrupted uploads continue from the last chunk when you supply the same file again.
* **Concurrency**: Several files upload at once. The `fastpix_upload_concurrency` filter changes the limit.
* **Background completion**: You can leave the page after starting.

### Resilience

* **One API client**: Every call to FastPix goes through one client with retries, exponential backoff, and a circuit breaker.
* **Offline edits**: Title and access changes made while FastPix is unreachable queue in an outbox and flush on recovery.
* **Published pages keep playing**: Video is delivered from the FastPix network, so an admin-side outage never affects visitors.
* **Sync fallback**: Without webhooks, a periodic sweep keeps the library current. A nightly deep sweep reconciles everything.

### Security

* **Signed webhooks**: Every event is verified with HMAC-SHA256 and replay-protected by event ID.
* **Signed playback**: Private and DRM tokens are minted per render and never cached in a page.
* **Capability gate**: Every REST route registers with a capability, or a public rate-limited bucket for player routes.
* **Sealed secrets**: Credentials and the signing key are stored sealed and non-autoloaded.
* **Site Health**: The plugin adds checks for its schema, object cache, page cache compatibility, and environment.

### Privacy

* Watch progress is recorded only with consent.
* Per-learner data is hashed, retention-pruned, and covered by the WordPress export and erasure tools.
* No code is loaded from remote servers. The player and uploader ship with the plugin.

## Deactivate and uninstall

**Deactivating** deletes nothing and edits no post. Migrated videos fall back to their local files, public FastPix videos show their saved poster and a link, and private or DRM videos show a short message. Reactivating restores every embed and runs one full resync.

**Uninstalling** keeps everything local by default so a reinstall picks up where it left off. Select **Delete local data on uninstall** in **Settings** first to remove the plugin's tables, options, and proxy attachments. Video on the FastPix platform is never touched by any path.

\

#### Frequently asked questions

Deactivating deletes nothing: published embeds fall back to a saved poster and link, and reactivating restores them. Uninstalling keeps local data by default; video stored on FastPix is never deleted by the plugin.
